Stratamed can be applied to fresh incisions and excisions, open wounds and compromised skin surfaces including those from post laser treatments, chemical peels, dermal abrasion, 1st and 2nd degree burns and radiation therapy. Stratamed is recommended for immediate treatment post procedure and should be continued until the skin has fully recovered. Stratamed is recommended for a minimum treatment of 30–90 days (24 hours a day / 7 days a week) or until no further improve- ment is seen.
Then you transition to Strataderm! This dries to form a silicone gel sheet, a protective layer that is gas permeable and waterproof which hydrates and protects scars from chemical and microbial inva sion, allowing scars to normalize the collagen synthesis cycles, producing a normal mature scar.Strataderm is used to soften and flatten scars, relieve the itching and discomfort as well as to reduce redness and discoloration associated with scars. Strataderm is recommended as minimum treatment of 60–90 days. Larger and older scars may take longer. Continued use is recommended until no further improvement is seen.
