Sea moss is a health source of nutrients derived from seaweed! Also known as Irish sea moss, it is a nutrient dense source of minerals, vitamins, antioxidants and more. For those transitioning to a plant-based lifestyle that want the punch of nutritional contents, sea moss is the way to go. Whether it be infused in your drinks or meals, it has calcium, bromine, magnesium, iodine, iron, phosphorus, potassium, selenium, zinc. Irish Sea Moss has been used in for years as a medicinal solution to various ailments. An active compound called carrageenin, found in Sea Moss, helps in restoring good health throughout the body, and the mucous membranes.
Promotes regular thyroid function
The thyroid gland secretes hormones that effect many bodily functions, tissues and our BMR (basal metabolic rate).
The most common cause of thyroid abnormalities is iodine deficiency. Iodine is one of the many minerals found abundantly in sea moss. By consuming sea moss regularly, you are directly feeding the thyroid. However, those with acne prone skin types, I do not recommend a high iodine diet.
